Overview
A Trailer Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining equipment or systems, ensuring optimal

Responsibilities
- Review work orders and discuss with the supervisor.
- Change, repair or replace parts and components of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and air systems by using hand tools and other specialized automotive repair equipment.
- Test and adjust repaired systems to meet required standards.
- Inform the supervisor of completed work orders, general trailer condition, and any future repairs to consider as needed.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on Walinga transportation equipment.
- Maintain equipment and work area to ensure safety standards are met.
- Participate in skill-building and safety training.
- Perform other duties in various departments as assigned, based on skill set and abilities.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics is a must.
- Knowledge of the methods and standard practices of the trade; various metals alloys.
- Experience in using mechanical tools and equipment.
- Skilled in interpreting drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and layout.
- Experience using tools and equipment common in welding to and repair parts and equipment. Ability to work from drawing and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances and layout of work.
- Requires staff to supply and maintain their own tools necessary for the role.
- Attention to detail.
- Problem-solving skills.
- The ability to troubleshoot is an asset.
- Physical Requirements: Range or Motion: ability to climb, walk, squat, kneel and perform above shoulder height activity. Work in various weld positions (flat and vertical planes, overhead). Lift from floor to waist 50 lbs. Lift from waist to shoulder up to 30 lbs. Lift above shoulder height up to 10 lbs. Work in various temperatures. Ability to work with or around chemicals.
